welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.

Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.

As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

[The Doctor bends over to pet K9]

Nothing wrong with that. Not the only alien born on Earth.

Oh yes! The thing is - I regenerated back into that face, Luke. How's your life been? What are you making of the hotel?

[He does care, Luke was important to Sarah Jane.]

[It's clear K9 has missed the other. He is quite contented, very good boy!]

Well, born is a strong word but I know what you mean.

Really? I didn't think you could go backwards. [He's thankful to talk about the hotel though.]

Things are okay, been mostly working. Been investigating this place, people from all over. Few familiar faces and apparently re-familiar. K9s has done some scans if you want them.

I didn't know I could have the same face again, either.

Oh yes! I'd love those scans. Good boy!

I've done some investigating with the Tardis. Thar's a massive gap in reality near the base of this hotel.

I think Mum was pretty fond of this face.

Affirmative master. The young master and I have been quite diligent in our explorations. Very interesting indeed.

That is what we have discovered. There seems to be a multiversal pull that's brought us here, or if we can go back home.

To what avail I am not entirely sure.

[The Doctor is quiet about Sarah Jane because he didnt go to the funeral. He refused to admit that she died. Even if he knew. He doesn't like goodbyes.]

She liked another face much more I think.

[The Doctor gives a head nod]

That's what pulled the Tardis here. Good question on being able to go back home. You're have to go twice the speed of light.

[It still hurts, quite a bit. It's been some time now but each and every day he misses her. He thinks of her now as explores this world because he knows it's what she would have wanted.]

Well yeah, she used to say that you weren't hers. But something about the hair.

There's been a lot of work and theory on the 'multiverse', especially by certain groups, but I think it's a bit more than that. Course that being said this place certainly has good amenities.

Curly hair and teeth. A younger me that she met when she was a teenager. That was her Doctor.

[Even if she accepted 10 too, he knew that 4 was her Doctor]

This will allow anyone and anything to show up in this hotel. From anywhen and where. It's already happened with the wheres. Some people have given me places that I don't know about.

[Which means Rose showing up is completely possible here.]

She mostly told use of the stories, not how you looked during them. Sky and I miss them a lot, I know we didn't get them all.

[And he regrets not asking more. He'd give anything to listen to just one more.]

That was our general understanding and it's sure to spread. From what I've already seen.

[He can only imagine who the other is looking for. He'd like to find people as well though he'd rather go home because most of who he'd be looking for wouldn't enjoy being thrown into a multiversal hotel.]

No thankfully, and I don't think it will. This space doesn't seem to abide by the same rules 'home' does. Which is probably a good thing, in case another you shows up. Like we need that.
Though the last you I met was more personable.

Do you have a particular creature you want to hear about?

Yeah, that's what I don't like when I go to other universes, all the laws I cling too...

Yes. She got trapped in another universe and who knows - maybe we'll find Sarah Jane too. And maybe the Brigadier.

Sanjay wouldn't be very happy if you heard them call them 'creatures', Doctor. 'Otherworldly beings' is the preferred nowadays. At least around UNIT.

I can't imagine you much of a law follower. In any sense.

[Okay that hurt, as much as seeing his mum again would be nice he's not sure he'd be ready for something like that. Either one of them really, he tries to play it off like it doesn't hurt but it's clear from the slight crack in his voice as he tries to joke.] I can only imagine coming home and telling Kate; 'You'll never believe who I saw on my multiverse vacation'.

What beings would you like to hear about, Luke?

I believe in physics. Just a tiny bit. [The Doctor's voice squeaks and he's quiet.]

I never made time to go see him again.

[And he should have had.] Too much running around the universe, me.

[He remembers the day he got the call that the Brigadier passed away. It hurts that they're both gone and the pouty face on The Doctor proves that. But if there's any chance for an again - he will welcome it.]

Who knows who we'll see from beyond our universe. But yes, Kate will be surprised.

Well he'd want me to ask about Solonians, I'm sure. They were always interesting to me, with just how many various forms there are.

Again, I only know of you, I don't know you. But I highly doubt that. [A laugh, you have a reputation but then his look gets a bit more serious.]

We learn to build a life without you, but there are moments that can only happen once Doctor. Even for a lord of time.

[Luke should be more polite all things considered but his response is somewhat icy. Sorry Doctor. But he softens a little, he doesn't like to hold any of that anger inside.]

The good news is if we do start popping in from our little circle of the universe we've got a pretty good shot at figuring out this whole Jetson Hotel and a desire to want to get to know it.

That's because of thar genes. They're able to mutant in various forms. I've run into them in the 30th century, in 2540 and on Karn. The first, two times where without Sarah Jane. When Sarah and I ran into them on Karn. Blimey, I haven't seen them for a long while. Anyways - the Sister of the Karn, eternal flame was dying. Meanwhile, Sarah and I where staying with Mehendri Solon. Who wasn't hostile to us to a point. Until, he brought up that he was rebuilding a body for the evil Time Lord Mobius.

You know - this isn't the best story to chat about the Solonians. I barely met any, outside of the few random ones hiding out on Karn. This is mostly a cult story with a dash of Frankenstein to the story.

In the end, everything worked out, the Sisterhood's fire continued to burn thanks to yours truly and Mehendri's work was destroyed.

[He doesn't know how to reply because he knows they have to build a life without him its just not a thing he thinks about often. But making money is a thing for humans.]

Now, the adventure with Jo - oh Jo, is much more about the Solonians than that adventure was.

If this place works how I think it does. It will be possible to see them younger and Rose to not be trapped in that other universe.

Just seemed interesting. Mum was always interested in the various people. It's one of the reasons she spent a lot of time getting people home who ended up lost.

[It's more once you see the sort of things that you show them Doctor you can't just easily put it aside. Luke has only seen such things secondarily, he can't imagine what it's like first hand. ]

Yeah? Well I mean I want to know about them so.

Hopefully as long as it's not like one of those 'she named me Luke after something in her past which was me all along' situations.

I have a lot of adventures with your mum. She had adventures with three of me. That's my Sarah Jane.

Jo? She was brilliant too. Bold. Daring. Kind. Open to other beings. She worked for UNIT while, I was thar. And your mum was a reporter, giving UNIT questions. The Brigadier is the one who gave me the job. After, I was found unconscious on the grounds. UNIT took me, I had to prove to them I was The Doctor again because I looked different. I had gained The Brigadier's trust because I was able to help him stop the Yetis.

I can imagine. She was always in for an 'adventure'.

I grew up with many members of UNIT being like a second family. It's one of the reasons I joined in the first place.
That and I mean where else do you put a super human with an exorbitant amount of knowledge about aliens and space.

[The Doctor beams. Especially, with what happened with the Sontarans]

Did you want to go inside the Tardis?

[The Doctor signals for Luke to follow him to The Tardis. The outside seems to be a lighter blue since the last time they met]

Come on inside.

[The Doctor unlocks the door to allow them both inside]

[It's very different from the last time he's been around it, and honestly much different than it's always been described to him.

But unlike most who wander through it's doors he's barely surprised by that and he doesn't give the Doctor the 'bigger on the inside' fix because the pet dog that rolls up behind them making itself very at home regardless of the change lived on the edge of a collapsing star in his attic so.]

I don't suppose it goes though or you would have been out of here already.

[The Doctor is disappointed on the lack of bigger on the inside but this is a first]

The Tardis is doing readings on that rift. And is sorting though the multiverse on which passage way is back to our universe. She's looking for matching space-time coordinates. We could in theory go right now. But no idea what universe we'd end up in.

Universe hopping used to be possible back in the old days; when The Time Lords were still around. You could pop back and forth and be back for tea.

[Given he's Earth grounded himself with the occasional slipping away; he has to go back.]

[The inner workings of the TARDIS are more thrilling than the mechanics of how it appears.]

I think I would like to stay in the universe I know than start hoping around might get lost and who knows how much hoping around it would take to get home. Mum and Martha have told me just how great you are at dropping people off.

[It does actually give him some comfort that the Doctor is working on it.]

Oh, it's not hard to hop back. Just so long you have the right coordinates.

Yeah, she, got on me about her drop off when we met up again. I thought it was near her place.
Besides, I was in a bit of hurry with dropping your mum off. Gallifrey was calling me.

Oh, Martha Jones. Is she doing alright?
