welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.

Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.

As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

You have it here then?
familyalien: (Smile)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-07 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. She's here.

[The Doctor signals for Luke to follow him to The Tardis. The outside seems to be a lighter blue since the last time they met]

Come on inside.

[The Doctor unlocks the door to allow them both inside]

[It's very different from the last time he's been around it, and honestly much different than it's always been described to him.

But unlike most who wander through it's doors he's barely surprised by that and he doesn't give the Doctor the 'bigger on the inside' fix because the pet dog that rolls up behind them making itself very at home regardless of the change lived on the edge of a collapsing star in his attic so.]

I don't suppose it goes though or you would have been out of here already.

familyalien: (Right then)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-07 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[The Doctor is disappointed on the lack of bigger on the inside but this is a first]

Actually -

[The Doctor gestures to a computer screen on the other side]

The Tardis is doing readings on that rift. And is sorting though the multiverse on which passage way is back to our universe. She's looking for matching space-time coordinates. We could in theory go right now. But no idea what universe we'd end up in.

Universe hopping used to be possible back in the old days; when The Time Lords were still around. You could pop back and forth and be back for tea.

[Given he's Earth grounded himself with the occasional slipping away; he has to go back.]

[The inner workings of the TARDIS are more thrilling than the mechanics of how it appears.]

I think I would like to stay in the universe I know than start hoping around might get lost and who knows how much hoping around it would take to get home. Mum and Martha have told me just how great you are at dropping people off.

[It does actually give him some comfort that the Doctor is working on it.]

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-07 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, it's not hard to hop back. Just so long you have the right coordinates.

Yeah, she, got on me about her drop off when we met up again. I thought it was near her place.
Besides, I was in a bit of hurry with dropping your mum off. Gallifrey was calling me.

Oh, Martha Jones. Is she doing alright?
humanarchetype: (Curious)

[personal profile] humanarchetype 2024-10-08 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Allegedly. Course if you don't know when you'll be it makes the location sort of moot.

As she should have, there's a big difference. Thankfully for her she was always very crafty.

Yeah she's alright, still works for UNIT and we've worked together on occasion.
familyalien: (not sure)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-09 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Been in E-Space before. Definitely good to have coordinates.

Good to hear.

Where do you want to go if given the choice?
humanarchetype: (Disappointed)

[personal profile] humanarchetype 2024-10-09 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
To say the least, but just because you have the coordinates doesn't mean you'll have the time. Yeah? I mean technically.

I dunno if I have any particulars, I guess I've never thought about it? I am fairly contented being right on earth, even given my history. There is supposed to be a rather large market out there somewhere from some of the travelers I've helped have said.

A sort of universal trading floor.
familyalien: (Focused)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-09 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
She's a time machine. Try to keep up.

That would be Akhaten. Most shops in the universe.
humanarchetype: (Disappointed)

[personal profile] humanarchetype 2024-10-09 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Again; do not much trust you. Sorry Doctor.

Something like that is just interesting for the knowledge of what sort of things are important to others.
familyalien: (Concern)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-09 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Quite alright. We barely know each other.

It was good meeting you, Luke. And I'm sure I'll see you around.
humanarchetype: (Subtle)

[personal profile] humanarchetype 2024-10-09 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
You track record is not great. Mum isn't the only one who tells such tales. Bit of a habit with you it seems.

I wont hold my breath yeah?
familyalien: (Default)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-09 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Oi! If I want to settle, I'll settle. I stayed in a Town called Christmas for hundreds of years of keeping them safe.

And I promise you and your mum that I will keep you safe.
humanarchetype: (Sassy)

[personal profile] humanarchetype 2024-10-09 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Not a matter of settling more that you're not a great driver mate from what I've been told.

Good news is I'm rather good at keeping myself safe.

familyalien: (What)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-09 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Did I miss a funny thing? [Such rudeness with this remark]

Good. Glad to hear. [He is.]
humanarchetype: (Shocked)

[personal profile] humanarchetype 2024-10-09 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
It depends on what you define as funny? I mean not that you often check back in but when you drop people off from these fantastical visits you're not known to drop in at the right place, or even the right time. [Think about it Doc, think about it. Remember most of your former companions work for UNIT. He's heard the stories.

It's not that he doesn't trust you, it's just he doesn't trust you.]

Course that being said there is no promises here. Here is still very much an unknown.
familyalien: (Smile)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-09 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know how you can judge how I drive my Tardis when most of the time I don't have a destination.

Oi! I've gotten my companions back to the right place and time before. Mess up a few times...

And I love unknowns. [:D]

[personal profile] humanarchetype 2024-10-09 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
You have a fairly lengthy track record that proves all these facts, the good and bad, but the point remains; I would like to get back home to Sanjay, safely.

On that we can agree wholeheartedly.
familyalien: (Default)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-09 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Then we can agree that we both want you safe.
