welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.

Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.

As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

Really? [It makes sense, but it's also like... there's something missing. A lot missing. The HOW he got there. Her eyes narrow. He's trying to make it easier for her, her time point, but that isn't honesty. She just grabs his face with both hands.]

How. Don't hold back. Don't try to protect me, every time you do, that's how I get hurt. I believe you, but there's something -- a lot of something that happened first.

[How important is it to her to know? Very. But if he wants to hold back she'll keep it on a back burner. Who knows how long.]

[And she chews her bottom lip because... it's not like she's not holding secrets close to her chest. But he kissed her first, even after seeing his human double do so and trying to push her away. She drops the hands and takes his hands in hers and gives them a small squeeze.]

[The Doctor is silent and his eyes are terribly old. Billions of years old]

Because I finally realized why I fought in all those wars.

Thar's a lot of something that happened, Rose Tyler. And I could be here all day telling you about it because I went though four faces.

[The Doctor smiles softly at the hand squeeze; better with two echoes in his head. That was a really long time ago. Back when they first met in that daft big ear face.]

[She shivers. Yes, that's definitely... a lot. But she's so happy he told her, no running away verbally or mentally or emotionally, and she loves the way he says her name, and she just... snuggles into his chest with a giant glomp not letting go again!!!]

I'll be here listening.

[She's sad and happy for him all at once. And it's not much she can do, but she is there, so she will be there for him.]

The an old enemy was able to cross into my reality. He calls himself The ToyMaker. He can bend reality to his will. He turned someone into a puppet for losing his game and created a maze for me and Donna to walk though.

We played a game - and he zapped me... and I bi-regenerated. Another me came out of me, so I didn't change my face. Then we played another game- The Ball. And he lost and got locked up for the rest of eternity.

I suppose I just realized after everything I've lost... I really liked being with Donna and her family and not having to fight.

It's been nothing but adventures for four regenerations, Rose.

[She didn't know what she was expecting... but her head hurts.]

[A beat.]

[Okay. Let's think...]

So you're another Meta-like???? [Hand through her hair. Explains it and also... what?] And there's another - other Doctor also? [Closes eyes. Okay. So Donna is like... some sort of special key to cloning/splintering the Doctor... APPARENTLY.]

Two hearts? [She just places a hand over his chest!]

Hah! Good. [She DOES click her teeth shut so she doesn't admit the "Wish I'd been there to see them." He knows. She knows he knows. He might even know she knows he knows. That's too much and not enough.] Can't say the same, it's not been that long for me... I... [A small tremble. She doesn't know what she wants to say. She'll have to think on it, and the worst part is, she doesn't want to. She just hugs him instead and holds him hard.] You fight to do what's right, you travel to see the universe, and going back to the ones who love you is home, yeah? [Ahhhhhh it's agony. She's blinking away tears and can't look up, just looking at his shoes, face buried in his chest still. The ones who love you. Family. It's all pain. She loves it, but it's pain. He pushed her towards them for her sake, but she'd already chosen to be with him and --]

[She is going to cry so VERY MUCH later.] Sounds like you finally found home. [Or now whatever.]

Yes, there's another Doctor. He came out of me. Like we splintered. Yes, I still have two hearts.

[The Doctor returns the hugging he doesn't want to let go of her either.]

Yeah. That's home. [The Doctor states in a loud whisper and tearful looking eyes and slightly squeaky voice]

[Okay. Rose makes a decision, shoving emotions back under her bed to ignore until later!]

[She looks back up, kisses him again, and when she finally finally breaks it off:] Run away with me anyway.

[Homes are overrated.]
