welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.

Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.

As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

[If he asked, Roboute might even elaborate. But then, whatever he is, he's sporting two hearts and a tertiary lung of his own, alongside a whole long list of other augments to a base human template.]

If you would count yourself of Terra, then I would say I am of Macragge. Rather on the opposite side of the galaxy. Though I was born on Terra.

Macragge? Can't say I've heard of that place, how'd you end on the other side of the galaxy?

The galaxy is very large. And there may be an element of temporal distortion at play. Humans will not establish themselves in the Macragge system until at least the twenty-first millennium.

[Shrugging is impractical. He gives a little head-tip instead.]

Enemy action. My brothers and I were separated from our Creator and scattered across the galaxy in our infancy. It took some time to reunite.

Glad you were able to reunite. But now, I know what's going on here.

[Because there is no Macragge system from where The Doctor is from and he would know]

Elaborate?

[Information is victory. Guilliman doesn't have all the facts yet, and he knows it.]

You see the thing is. I've been all over my universe and thar isn't any Macragge system. So that means - you and I are from different universes. I know the history of humanity and that isn't something that happens to them.

[Opens his mouth. Closes it. After a few centuries, even transhuman memory starts to encounter retrieval issues. So it takes a few seconds for him to go from grox-shit to actually, that sounds familiar to --]

I have been told of similar concepts, but only in the theoretical, or as works of fiction.

It is an extraordinary claim to take at face value.

Yuuuuup.

I'm billions of years old. Been around just a bit. Just a tiny bit.

Another extraordinary claim. [Though far less so than the 'different universes' thing, apparently.] In time spanned, or time experienced?

Time experienced. I got trapped somewhere and went the slow route.
