welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.
Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.
As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

She's good. We... had a bit of a break, but we're together again.
[ Mulder looks around, seemingly taking in their surroundings with a target in mind. ]
Haven't seen her since I got here, but I'm sure she'll pop up.
[ No, he's not. ]
no subject
Oh good. Good for you! Oh yes!
[Then remarks casually]
Not impossible.
no subject
Yeah, you said it.
[ He playfully slaps the Doctor on the shoulder. ]
So, how have you and Rose been? Knocking boots enough since I last saw you?
no subject
... She's alive... That's what matters.
no subject
Not alive... and not with you, I take it?
no subject
[The Doctor insists upon even if he doesn't know anymore.]
No... It's been quite awhile since she's traveled with me.
no subject
[ Mulder places his hand on the Doctor's shoulder. ]
Glad she's alive. But she's spending more time with her "mum," huh?
no subject
[The Doctor finds it difficult to happy now because he regrets his choice. Why did he do what he did at Bad Wolf Bay? He still loves her and now, he's miserable and old.]
no subject
no subject
She's in another universe with her family.
no subject
Her AND her whole family? Yeah, uh huh, and how'd that happen?
no subject
I'm going to need something with more of a zing to it if you want to know.
A lot has happened since we last met.
[The Doctor remarks dryly, including the lost of his wife.]
no subject
Yeah, um... sorry. I thought you were insinuating she needed a break.
[ Mulder rubs the back of his head awkwardly. ]
We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.
no subject
I don't really want too.
no subject
[ Many moments pass before Mulder eventually finds the right words. ]
I'm sorry for your loss.
no subject
Been a lot of loss since the last I saw you.
no subject
Yeah, same.
[ He turns away, not particularly eager to talk about it. ]
no subject
Want to talk about it?
no subject
Scully and I, um... had a son.
[ He squints, trying to remove the mental image from his brain. ]
I had to go on the run, and...
[ Tighter squinting. ]
My son had powers. Powers that attracted bad guys. So Scully had to give him up for adoption.
[ He tries not to tear up, but his eyes betray him. ]
I lost my son.
no subject
I'm sorry. I'm so, so, sorry.
[He misses his child, his grandchild and great grandson and of course, Jenny.]
no subject
After a while, he pats the other man on the hand and stands back up, teary-eyed but determined. ]
She had to do what she had to do.
[ Mulder wipes his eyes again and looks back at the Doctor. ]
I've said my piece. What exactly happened with Rose?
no subject
[The Doctor squeaks out but he doesn't like that Mulder had to give up their child, even if that was what was best.]
That's complicated. Reality was collapsing and we stopped it. But at a price. Rose - had go to back with her family in the other dimension.
I - [There's a long pause because he knows he made the choice for her, so it would hurt less because Davros did in fact worm his way into The Doctor's head about making his friends into weapons.]
I made her go back.
no subject
For her own good.
[ ...Right? ]
