welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.

Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.

As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

[He peered at the offered hand warily for a moment before reaching out and taking it and shuffling to his feet with a quietly-mumbled 'thank you.' He took a moment to dust himself off, discreetly eyeing the places he knew his lines were fastest to appear to make sure they were out before pushing back his hood. Luckily, the moment gave him a chance to try and come up with some kind of answer.]

I'm ok. I'm just...not from...Earth. [Even admitting to that made him give a little cringe. They were in space, so that shouldn't be a shock, right?] There aren't many people where I'm from. I don't think anyone will know it.

[And if they did, and they were anyone but a very select number of people, admitting that he was from No Man's Land and giving them a chance to recognize his face could have, from what he's been able to glean from eavesdropping on the adults' hushed whispers back home, very drastic consequences for him.]

[The Doctor asks with concern and then with a thinky face]

That's alright. We all can't be from Earth.
[There's a playful twinkle in his eyes]

[There's a look of dread on The Doctor's face when that is mentioned. He remarks with a very serious tone] Why aren't there a lot of people from that place?
