welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.

Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.

As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

Well, that's not fair. Why do they leave you behind?

[Caitlyn can sympathize with that. It's not on the same level, but due to her "social standing", the influence of her mother precedes her and so she's always posted on safe places, whilst others get to do more significant tasks. It is especially infuriating knowing she could contribute significantly.]

I think I'll stick with water for the moment. I had some very suspicious cocktail and it has left me parched.

[Her huge glass of water is filled with ice and half-empty.]

It is. Edible glitter, I guess. Huh. A nifty bartender trick.

It's not even because I'm new anymore. I'm pretty sure no one takes me seriously around there.

( because she is silly and young and she has a ways to go. it's still not fair, especially since they asked her to film those commercials and everything. ) This guy, Scott, he's new and he's already got his uniform and everything! It makes me wonder if it's some nepotism case because his brother's a graduate or whatever.

( she's clearly dealing with it well and takes another sip of the drink. )

Let's ask for a water pitcher for you! It'll help, I'm sure.

[She feels the sting of that even more. Caitlyn is not sure if the fact that she can relate to the girl is making her feel sad or glad that she's not alone.]

I mean, there is always that. Or perhaps he already had a track record before his arrival. If you, for example, come from a family of lawyers and are interested in being a lawyer, you have a massive headstart compared to anyone else who wants to pursue it because you have someone to prepare you in advance.

( jubilee rolls her eyes. she likes scott, don't get her wrong. but come on.

she doesn't hear caitlyn's protests, however, and jumps up in a blur of pinks and yellows to find the nearest wait staff to get a big ol' jug of water sent to their table. from across the room, she waves at caitlyn before giving her a cheesy grin and a very enthusiastic thumbs up. )
