welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.

Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.

As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

[She shrugs slightly.] A lot of places were built up. New technology, newer old places. I didn't... [She almost says 'exist before then' but catches herself.] I wasn't alive before it was what it is now.

That is quite a few news. Is that a real place or a joke place? [The humans she knew were rather fond of a joke.]

Real place. The humans just kept the original name each time it was rebuilt and added a new each time.

[millay]

That does sound like humans. [She's curious about the fact that he said humans instead of 'people'. Then again, perhaps the box is evidence that something is not quite what it seems.]

And where do you come from?

[familyalien]

[millay]

[She notes the vagueness of his answer. Considering his comments about New York with additional news, she assumes it is either the future or something quite different.]

Curiously vague... [A beat.] I didn't catch your name.

[familyalien]

The Doctor, you?

[millay]

[An unusual name as well. She wonders if this is one of those specific nicknames.]

Maeve Millay.

[familyalien]

Good to meet you.

What do you make of this place?

[millay]

[She glances around.]

It reminds me of a place I used to work and yet is different enough that I can't quite grasp the script of it. It's possible the writers got more creative or that it isn't what I am used to enough to have one.

Are you a writer?

[millay]

Me? No. I've only ever acted out the storylines of writers. Rather poor ones. [She shrugs.] But what Lee lacked in creativity, he made up for in...well, he made up for it anyway.
