welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.

Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.

As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

[The Doctor grins widely]

And that right thar is a Nebula cloud where stars are being born.

[He looked back, still grinning as he saw what was pointed out.]

A nebula. I've only ever seen them in pictures. [And softer, to himself.] Pretty sure most people from Earth have only ever seen it in pictures, actually...

Isn't it remarkable? How all that gas becomes compressed to form a star. Thar aren't a lot nebula's out in space so consider yourself lucky. But being near that Rift, I'm not surprised. Shame thar doesn't seem to be any planets near-by.

Utterly remarkable. [he agreed, still staring out at everything out there. He could stand here for hours and just stare, honestly. it was beautiful.] Never been much on Luck, but I can't lie, right now I m feeling fairly lucky.

[he turned to watch the Doctor now, beaming.] Suddenly I'm glad I pulled your butt out of that collapsed building. [he winked in tease. It was only a soft joke, after all, as he was glad he was able to help the man out and get nothing back at all for it. But now he was in space. How could he NOT feel lucky.]

[So, more seriously, his smile softened, more honest as he added:]
Thanks. For bringing me here. This is... well, words can't describe it.

[The Doctor pats Hobs shoulders]

Good. Glad. Because I'm sorry I had to collapse that building because just one Cyberman is bad.

[he chuckled a bit at that. Those things sounds terrible, Cyberman or whatever.] Hey, no one got hurt, well... except for you, of course. So, pretty sure one building is worth it, by the sounds of it. [And one very old antique piano he bought brand new back in the 1700's or something, but that's okay too.]

[The Doctor knows for a fact there is a dead Cyberman, beyond where he was found in the building. He stayed to make sure the other didn't get out.]

Want to check out what the hotel has to offer? This is my second time aboard something like this. Hopefully, they didn't name this one Titanic too. Or you could go with me to the room where we came in. I need to investigate the panels.

Sure. [He said simply, sliding his hands into his pants pockets, trying not to look over excited, even if this was all more amazing than he had originally thought.] Though he have time, yeah? We can go investigate the panels first then wander--wait, why are you investigating panels?

Because someone was able to bring me here with my Tardis. That's an awful lot of energy to trans beam us. It's Satellite Five all over again.

[Hopefully not completely]

[That got his attention. He moved to walk with the Doctor, back to where they came, if that was where they were going. His voice lower, between them. Serious now.]

So, this wasn't the destination you were intending? Are there... things out there strong enough to fore you where it wants? Or, well, I suppose there is, if this isn't the first time. [Satellite five? what's that?]

No, it wasn't. Big old Hotel in outer space certainly isn't me. That's what concerns me. And even more of a question who and why would anyone build a transmat beam that powerful?
justnotgoingtodie: (1)

[personal profile] justnotgoingtodie 2024-10-11 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Curious. It couldn't possibly be coincidence, right? As in, they just bring any form of strong... power in? Or is this going to be something or someone that is looking for you? Are we looking at ducking away from your lil cybermen thing trying to get back at you for the fallen building? [What? it could be a thing.]
familyalien: (Concern)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-11 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
I don't believe in coincidences. I certainly hope it's not one of the many beings that want to kill me or jail me. That thing stopped moving. I'm not concerned about that one. Though I am concerned on where it came from.
justnotgoingtodie: (70)

[personal profile] justnotgoingtodie 2024-10-11 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
No? [He hummed to the first part.] Not at all? Are you a fate and destiny kind of person then? [He smiled faintly at that, but walked along beside the other.] And just how many... beings want to kill or jail you? That must make traveling difficult.
familyalien: (hyperfication)

[personal profile] familyalien 2024-10-11 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
You could stay that, I s'uppose. It's a big universe. Why I don't stay in a place very long.

[The Doctor heads towards the transmat area and not checking to see if Hobs is following or not. He takes out his sonic screwdriver and starts buzzing the controls]
