welcome, new visitors

There isn't much fanfare for the new crop of visitors who have come in this month, but what they encounter is quite wondrous. Is it a cruise ship? Is it a hotel? Is it a tiny planet? No one can give them a straight answer, but all are encouraged to take part in the buffet, where visitors may find an assortment of foods both familiar and unfamiliar to them. There is an open mic night happening in one of the lounges on site, featuring staff and visitor performances. Or there are a handful of shops to browse if you're amenable to trading.

Visitors will find that the Hotel Multiverse at the Edge of the Cosmos between Canons (its official name) is very much alive beyond the bustling crowd. In fact, it might just be listening to you and anticipating your needs.

As for the rest? Well, that's up to you. You may as well socialize, right?

[ he looks at the woman. he looks at his plate. he looks back to the woman. plate again. woman again. ]

What's wrong with it?

[ ma'am. ma'am. would you ask this question to the monks of tibet? be so for real.

the coffee in the black lodge was either literal toxic sludge or never stopped pouring for him to drink it. this is the best meal he's had in an indeterminate number of days. he will also be hitting up every space greasy spoon he sees. a mars-motivated man's gotta eat, plain and simple.

cooper points behind him to the carving station and surrounding area.

They have a build-your-own-baked-potato bar.

You cannot be seriously impressed by something so low-brow like a 'build-your-own-baked-potato' bar!

( at this point she was literally clutching her pearls, figuratively and physically tugging at a row of pearls on her neck. the way the food was served on his place, the pile of grime building up under the plates, the mess being left behind by others-

it made the woman look so stressed and disturbed, she nearly blew a fuse. however she took a deep breath and tried to control herself. )

Listen, I can make something a million times better than this tripe. I can make a creamy potato au gratin that will make you detest baked potatoes. You shouldn't settle for this!

What's wrong with baked potatoes? [ the injustice, truly! ] A human diet of only whole milk and potatoes would supply nearly every nutrient necessary for the maintenance of the human body. That miracle alone practically makes it the ideal form.

[ honestly, 10/10 fact drop. excuse him, the lodge has left him slightly on edge. he doesn't mean to insult her soup. two wrongs don't make a right, after all. ]

You should leave a resume with the front desk. They might be hiring.

( with a soft breath, she began to reign back her obsessive nature to be perfect, to prove to others her skills were better than anyone else's. she was here to enjoy the environment after all.

but then he began to talk about the food from a scientific standpoint, making her right eyebrow twitch in anger. if he was going to get technical about it, she would do it right back.

especially since his little comment about the resume, was taken as an insult. )

While that could be true, it lacks the necessary proteins to build muscle and maintain energy. Additionally, such a meal would drive the mind to utter boredom, possibly leading to other issues. Do you truly think you could eat nothing but mashed slop for every meal, three times a day, for several years and not grow endlessly bored with it?

Who said anything about mashed? [ GIRLIE COME ON, if we gonna go off, we gonna go off. ] If you're really half the chef you say you are, you'll count the versatility of the potato as a blessing, and it just might be your saving grace, but the whole milk should be a very simple challenge.
