YOU'VE JUST CROSSED OVER INTO -
![]() ![]() ![]() from HOTEL MULTIVERSE AT THE EDGE OF THE COSMOS BETWEEN CANONS™ Guests who find themselves partaking in the Hotel's amenities quickly find some tricks afoot. The decor is first, neon lights changing to autumnal oranges, garish greens, and ghoulish purples overnight. Those who peruse the shops will find them stocked with masks and costumes, and the ambient music which plays throughout the ship is punctured by blood-curdling sound effects such as screams and anxiety-inducing musical stingers. This is Halloween. Those who utilize the Hotel-provided devices will find an ad splashed across their screens. Similarly, TVs, phones connected to the network, and flyers posted will read: "FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT OF OUR GUESTS, HOTEL MULTIVERSE AT THE EDGE OF THE COSMOS BETWEEN CANONS™ IS HAPPY TO PROVIDE HALLOWEEN-THEMED ENTERTAINMENT." Staff members' uniforms change, with employees adding costume pieces to them as the weeks wear on. Guests are strongly encouraged to put together a costume with pieces from the shops, but those who opt out will instead find one of the standard options (listed at the bottom of this post) and chosen at random (by googling "rng 1-19") in their wardrobe. After dark (or, what would be dark), the ship transforms into a hotel of horrors, the following chaos breaking loose: TRICK-OR-TREATING Costumed guests are welcome to partake in trick-or-treating with the ship's staff, who can be found with carts of candy in common areas. Guests are also offered flags for their doorknobs to indicate that they have candy available in the rooms if they would like to partake as well. SCAREZONES Grab a map from the concierge or walk the halls at random, but don't be surprised if a staff member jumps at you from the shadows! HAUNTED HOUSE Guests using the hotel app will find numerous ads alerting them to a haunted house that's overtaken one of the hotel floors (and honestly, the ads are impressive, opening as an emergency alert to a runaway alien), and the hotel itself plasters the attraction across its screens and walls overnight as well. Obviously, a haunted house is a great thing to do after you've had a ton to drink, or a great way to meet fellow guests (whether or not you're reaching for their hand in fright). However, to ensure the safety of all team members and guests, do not make physical contact with any member of our cast. Remember: the actors' intention is to frighten you. HORROR MOVIE MARATHON Guests hoping to keep things a bit more low key might find what they're looking for in the hotel's movie theater and lounges, which offer 24/7 horror movie marathons ranging from the classic to the avant garde. A programming guide can be found outside of each respective screening or on the app. Film buffs will be delighted at the hotel's library, but don't be surprised if your niche fave is banished to a graveyard slot. MASQUERADE The hotel's ballrooms are open late for those guests interested in keeping the revelry going night after night. Just don't let the anonymity of your costumes take you too terribly far (or, I mean, do what you want, everyone has a room, after all). If you aren't able to purchase a costume or aren't feeling inspired, no problem! Our courteous staff have taken the liberty of providing you with a courtesy costume, free of charge, to allow you to participate in the event. You will receive one of the following at random: 01: Ghost 02: Alien 03: Devil 04: Superhero (Your Choice!) 05: Skeleton 06: Pumpkin 07: Zombie 08: Vampire 09: Clown 10: Mummy 11: Werewolf 12: Black Cat 13: Pirate 14: Frankenstein's Monster 15: Witch 16: Spider 17: Bunny 18: Bat 19: Angel |

What, you want ice cream?
no subject
Omori shakes his head. Snow cones were superior to ice cream, see?
By who’s logic? Who knows!More scribbles of the knife on the wall. An ice cream ‘X’d out, another drawing of a snow cone with confetti around it.
Then, the child rushed over to Badou and threw his knife at the board. Bullseye!
See?
Probably not.]no subject
[so it was the board, okay-- that's about all Badou has time to think about before the kid's throwing the knife--]
HELL YEAH! Okay, was that the board? That was damn impressive, dude.
no subject
His knife was much easier to hit with than a dart.Except… as the child pulled the knife from the board, he realized it had left a sizable indent. Oops. Hopefully that wouldn’t affect things…
Anyway-
Back to practice! Omori believes in you!]
no subject
Pumping his fists, he takes another dart, breathes in, lets it out and throws it-- better progress, even!]
Well?
no subject
Maybe it was meant to be a clear marker. Maybe Omori had overused the auto-healing system of this place. Maybe… something as impermanent as him actually left a lasting impression…
He wouldn’t think on it too hard. Right now there were more important things to deal with - like Badou’s amazing progress!
Omori mimed clapping, no noise coming out, and then tapped his wrist - like a reminder that Badou had a deadline to keep to. But still! The corners of the child’s mouth twitched upwards. Badou was making progress and that was… satisfying. Like watching a friend Level Up.]
no subject
You don't wanna take another shot? Make it interesting?
I’m laughing at the metaphor but Omori is just like WAT
Alright then! Time for the instructor to show him how it’s done!
Omori picked up another of his own darts, feeling the weight again (or lack thereof, it really was easier to aim a knife), aimed, and let loose.
The dart didn’t make bullseye, but it was in the second to center ring.
The child pointed to his result. Beat that Badou! He’s challenging you!]
omori is right tbh
Damn. I don't think bar-flies could beat you at this rate. How'd you get so good, kid? I'm gonna have to make you six feet tall in my stories...
Aaand the attention span of a child XD
Battle.
[Stated simply, with none of the normally negative feelings associated with such a word. And why would there be? Omori lived in a world where he was meant to triumph, where he wouldn’t succumb, where - if his friends fell in battle - they could simply be revived with a bit of Life Jam as many times as needed…
Maybe there was its own kind of cruelty in that. Omori wouldn’t know.
At the mention of a story though… he looked to Badou, gaze curious. Badou was a storyteller? The child blinked, then took a step closer, suddenly interested in that more than the darts. Darts could wait.
Badou surely had some exciting stories!]
no subject
Hmmm? Well, of course I'd brag about the mighty warrior that taught me to throw darts.
(He’s not necessarily asking for a war story, it’s more You’ve Seen Cool Stuff, RIGHT?!)
Oh! Badou meant him!
Well, that was fine, but Omori had been there for that story
it was, after all, still ongoing. His gaze sought after a different story. One that might be more interesting than the promise of fictional battles that Omori lived in, fighting bunnies and space worms and sprout moles.
Where Badou might have seen the horrors of war, the child had only his own experiences.]
poor baby has no idea badous seen not much except like a couple Horrors
Uh, well one time I was getting info for a client, and some asshole sneezed and I was overheard, right? So I tried to barricade myself in a room...
He’s like “Badou was watching those horror films like it was nothing, he’s Seen Stuff” XD
and part of it was Sunny’s own propensity to space out. While Badou might not consider the story interesting, the child’s eyes were glued to the man’s movements: any small fidgeting or expressions would be noticed. He nodded, a silent admission to continue… such a dour party member of Badou’s, he thought, to have sneezed at such a crucial moment.
That’s what knives were for, the child concluded simply.]
god sweet sweet omori badou is the BIGGEST baby
encouraged, apparently, by those bright eyes looking at him like he hangs the stars themselves, the info broker does continue, tone also brightening]
It had no window, though, so I was fucked. Finally, I decided, forget it! I yanked the bookshelf away from the door, and exploded out the door, kicking and punching those assholes out of my way! They never even expected it!
Watch Omori endorsing Badou’s BA-ness and getting him into trouble XD
So much action! So much danger! The hero wins!
The child mimes a punch (thankfully nowhere near anything actually punchable).
Then, he hops back over to the wall, taking out his knife and… drawing his best approximation of the scene! It’s definitely in a child-drawing-with-crayons style mixed with comic panels, but that’s what he has to work with. This story should go down in the annals of history! (Or at the very least, inscribed into the walls of where it was told.)
he ABSOLUTELY WOULD
That's good, way better than the real thing. You could have a real life outta drawing, man.
no subject
Dart board all but forgotten, he moves to another open section of the wall, attempting to draw out his own adventures. It was sporadic, a little more than a map than a comic, but Omori had a good memory.
A playground surrounded by a forest. Outer space, a campground and a maze populating in the starry sky. Spiders leading to a giant Castle.
Four little stick figures, one of them Omori, the others mostly nondescript. He was limited without color.
Hope whoever owned this arcade wouldn’t mind the drawings if they didn’t fade.]no subject
Sounds like you and all your friends had a lot of adventures. You went to space??
Omori turning the Arcade into Craft Wall and making Badou draw
Then, just as abruptly, he’s back to drawing: a cool space captain, surrounded by a motley crew, a buff version of the planet Pluto, and rows and rows of a corn maze. (At least, it was supposed to look like corn. Maybe it was something else, as truly after a while Omori just starts drawing lines on the wall.)
The child glances around the room… aha! Pausing once he’s satisfied with his work, he rushes over to a small bowl. Maybe there’s some color in here…]
tbh it looks better now with all this
Whatcha doing now, kid?
XD at least it wasn’t carpet for walls
No, nope, not the- wait.
Aha!
The child pulls his hand out, lifting it into the air. Like showing off the most interesting prize ever, he presents it to Badou.
A green marker! Now they can draw together!]
youre totally not wrong lmao
Oh, you want me to try it too? Alright, but mine are kinda shitty.
[he takes the marker and tries to scribble some amalgamation of Omori and him]
no subject
Then, instead of returning to his own etchings, he watches with apt attention as the man draws.
Dark eyes intent on memorizing each stroke, as Badou seemed to labor over his scribbles with masterful intent.
It took a moment for him to realize but… was that… Omori and Badou?
The child stared at the drawing, something clawing its way into his chest. To confirm, he pointed to himself, a questioning aura to his movements.]
no subject
[the movement draws Badou's attention away from his task, embarrassingly focused on it, and when the kid points to himself, he grins]
Yeah, man! You and me are on an adventure. Haven't decided where, yet.
