YOU'VE JUST CROSSED OVER INTO -
![]() ![]() ![]() from HOTEL MULTIVERSE AT THE EDGE OF THE COSMOS BETWEEN CANONS™ Guests who find themselves partaking in the Hotel's amenities quickly find some tricks afoot. The decor is first, neon lights changing to autumnal oranges, garish greens, and ghoulish purples overnight. Those who peruse the shops will find them stocked with masks and costumes, and the ambient music which plays throughout the ship is punctured by blood-curdling sound effects such as screams and anxiety-inducing musical stingers. This is Halloween. Those who utilize the Hotel-provided devices will find an ad splashed across their screens. Similarly, TVs, phones connected to the network, and flyers posted will read: "FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT OF OUR GUESTS, HOTEL MULTIVERSE AT THE EDGE OF THE COSMOS BETWEEN CANONS™ IS HAPPY TO PROVIDE HALLOWEEN-THEMED ENTERTAINMENT." Staff members' uniforms change, with employees adding costume pieces to them as the weeks wear on. Guests are strongly encouraged to put together a costume with pieces from the shops, but those who opt out will instead find one of the standard options (listed at the bottom of this post) and chosen at random (by googling "rng 1-19") in their wardrobe. After dark (or, what would be dark), the ship transforms into a hotel of horrors, the following chaos breaking loose: TRICK-OR-TREATING Costumed guests are welcome to partake in trick-or-treating with the ship's staff, who can be found with carts of candy in common areas. Guests are also offered flags for their doorknobs to indicate that they have candy available in the rooms if they would like to partake as well. SCAREZONES Grab a map from the concierge or walk the halls at random, but don't be surprised if a staff member jumps at you from the shadows! HAUNTED HOUSE Guests using the hotel app will find numerous ads alerting them to a haunted house that's overtaken one of the hotel floors (and honestly, the ads are impressive, opening as an emergency alert to a runaway alien), and the hotel itself plasters the attraction across its screens and walls overnight as well. Obviously, a haunted house is a great thing to do after you've had a ton to drink, or a great way to meet fellow guests (whether or not you're reaching for their hand in fright). However, to ensure the safety of all team members and guests, do not make physical contact with any member of our cast. Remember: the actors' intention is to frighten you. HORROR MOVIE MARATHON Guests hoping to keep things a bit more low key might find what they're looking for in the hotel's movie theater and lounges, which offer 24/7 horror movie marathons ranging from the classic to the avant garde. A programming guide can be found outside of each respective screening or on the app. Film buffs will be delighted at the hotel's library, but don't be surprised if your niche fave is banished to a graveyard slot. MASQUERADE The hotel's ballrooms are open late for those guests interested in keeping the revelry going night after night. Just don't let the anonymity of your costumes take you too terribly far (or, I mean, do what you want, everyone has a room, after all). If you aren't able to purchase a costume or aren't feeling inspired, no problem! Our courteous staff have taken the liberty of providing you with a courtesy costume, free of charge, to allow you to participate in the event. You will receive one of the following at random: 01: Ghost 02: Alien 03: Devil 04: Superhero (Your Choice!) 05: Skeleton 06: Pumpkin 07: Zombie 08: Vampire 09: Clown 10: Mummy 11: Werewolf 12: Black Cat 13: Pirate 14: Frankenstein's Monster 15: Witch 16: Spider 17: Bunny 18: Bat 19: Angel |
Mari | Omori | OTA
Halloween is no excuse to not have a picnic! Any looking around the common area will notice that there is a red and white picnic blanket spread out, multiple bowls of candy set out. Mari is dressed in a cute black cat costume, a bright smile on her face as she will gladly hand out candy to those who approach her.
Scarezones
Even if you managed to catch Mari in the common area, you will notice that after walking down the various corridors, after a certain distance away-where you can no longer see the common area- the familiar picnic and girl will once again be there. How she might have moved so quickly or gotten ahead of you is anyone's guess... Her array of candy will also change and match whatever the theme of the area around her.
Haunted House
Mari can be found waiting at the entrance to the Haunted House, familiar picnic basket in hand. She is more than willing to go through the house as many times as necessary for those that would like someone to share the experience with.
Horror Movie Marathon/ Masquerade
When given free time... Mari can be found either watching the various movies showing in the theater- a sparkle in her eye, as though she is thoroughly enjoying the experience, gladly willing to sit with those alone so they too can enjoy the showing- or the masquerade- dancing along to the tunes as perfectly as she can, even if she doesn't quite know all the music.
Haunted House
If she wants to go to the haunted house, even if it's not real, he'll go with her.]
Uhm...
[He does look different, more colorful, and his right eye is alredy covered in bandages but... he should at least look enough like Omori for her to recognize him? In the worst case scenario, Sunny will merely tell her all is a costume and he has the eyepatch is to imitate Spaceboy...]
[ooc: hi again, kel's player here, sorry for not answering for a while]
Re: Haunted House
[Luckily for Sunny, Mari recognized him instantly. He was her precious brother after all.]
“Sunny! It’s so nice to see you!” [The younger boy is quickly enveloped in a tight hug, and if focusing on her form, it changed briefly to one with brown hair and a white flowing dress before reverting back.] “It’s been so long…”
[The last bit is said bittersweetly. It’s clear she’s missed you.]
no subject
Still, dream or not, Sunny leaned against her, closing his only remaining eye and enjoying the strangely realistic and familiar touch. So warm... so sweet. The change in color and shape doesn't seem to bother him, it's just... natural. Dreams are fickle delicate things, he'd rather focus on her presence rather than what's going on between them.]
I... [It's not easy for him to speak, yet he feels like he has to. For her. He cannot bring her back, but he has to try to make the sister in his dreams happy, at least. Right?] Missed you. Happy. Too be here.
[Wherever they are. Whatever she wants to do.]
[OOC: hey! I'm thrilled to see you picked Mari! :D And happy to see you again!]
no subject
“Me too Sunny…” [It was clear from the way he wore an eyepatch that she had missed a lot… but she wasn’t going to comment, unwilling to bring up any painful memories.]
[She waited until he was ready to break the hug, smiling again at him brightly as she gently took his hand.]
“Ready to face your fears?”
no subject
Mh... [Letting go was difficult, painful, but in the end he managed to lower his arms and take a step back from Mari, glancing to the side and getting ready. It was difficult to look at her when he finally remembered but... he had to make her happy. At least the one in this dream.]
I-
[Part of him wanted to say 'I already faced them', it was technically true, but jumpscares still had a good chance of making him jump or scream at least. Hopefully this was going to be nothing like Blackspace- right? Sunny swallowed, squeezing her hand and nodding, silently letting her know he was ready.]
no subject
“Don’t worry. I’ll be with you the whole way.”
[She wouldn’t rush him. They would take it at a pace he was comfortable with, as slow or fast as he wanted. After all, you could only confront your own fears when you were ready.]
“Besides-“ [She shot him another smile.] “I know you’re brave.”
no subject
But. Not alone...
[Stringing words together took some effort for him, but he still wanted to let her know that. Even in his solitude, Sunny surrounded himself with friends. Even when things were scary, it was Mari who always offered shelter and made things more bearable. Her memory offered him the same warmth she once offered him in life...
He glanced down at their hands and back at her, nodding. He was redy to face the haunted house.]

[She leads him into the haunted house. For her it’s stereotypical enough that she expects certain things to happen- dark long hallways, hanging bats, the noise of a machine playing creepy music, even the actors that were here to play their roles in various jump scares and Halloween themed creatures. Each time they encountered a new obstacle, she would watch her brother’s reaction, and patiently explain the work that went behind each one till she felt like he understood.]
“After all… when you take the time to understand and calmly look at a situation, things aren’t always as scary as they look.” [Whether it was the fog machine hid behind a curtain, the music playing from speakers, the makeup and costumes that the cast wore… she would explain it all so that he could overcome it.]

[It's the closest to a smile he got in a long while, infinitely more natural to what he forced in front of Basil at the hospital. She was home, even if nothing there was real and even if it was probably just his own brain trying to comfort him. Finding strength in others felt wrong, but that was Sunny at the moment. He wasn't even wearing Omori as a vessel, he was as weak as 'Sunny' could be.
He followed in silence, gulping at the entrance and looking around. Scary. Creepy. His dreams easily turned into horrible nightmares and now he felt like he had no control at all on them. He didn't want to drag her down to Black Space or anything like that.]
Things. Can... get out of. Control.
[He hurt the Basil in his dreams so many times, what if he was going to do the same with her? But... with Mari it was different. The simple fact he was able to use so many words, despite the lump in his throat, he...]
I trust you.
Sorry for the delay!
"I trust you too." [Shooting him another smile, she squeezed his hand again just to reassure him that she really was here. Each obstacle they would face, they would do it together... so that one day, when she wasn't around, he could face them alone- although secretly she wished he would never be alone.]
"Just remember... if it gets too hard to face, take a step back and breathe. Don't let it overwhelm you... just focus on what you can do in that moment." [She gently continued to guide him, letting him hide behind her if he needed to, but they would wait until he was ready to face that current fear before continuing.] "And I'll be right by you."
Not an issue! Happy to hear from you!
Mh...
[Her warmth was reassuring, her presence made things feel less scary. Her hand was like a beacon in the darkness, her voice something that, after the initial distress, only soothed his pain. He knew he was on his own, Sunny couldn't rely on his sister anymore, there was no escape from the horrors of what he did but still... still... escaping in his dreams felt like a good option as long as he didn't push away the truth once more.]
Calm Down... Persist... Overcome.
[His skills when he wasn't omori, his skills when his mind raced into dark corners in the real world and his visions almost got the best of him. The skills he needed to face his own guilt. If this was a new potentially dangerous area, he had to be ready to face it. Right? Right? He stood by her side, aware he didn't even have a knife with himself, nodding in her direction to let his sister know he was ready to proceed. It was scary, yes, but at the same time he couldnt' let her down.]
Re: Not an issue! Happy to hear from you!
Zombies
Sure enough the cast playing the undead wandered around, some even going so far as to hide behind trees and lay in the half open graves, waiting to scare the next victim that walked by...
Mari halted, gently bending down and pointing towards one of the graves where an actor hid.]
"See? There's one... can you find some others?" [She watched his reaction to see if she needed to point any of the 'fun behind the curtain' moments out to help him with any fear reactions. For now though, she would see if he could overcome it and find the answers himself.]
Masquerade
Until something caught his attention: a wisp of familiar purple hair, long and free. Dancing with everyone else, yet still in her own way.
Omori had never felt so alienated.
The feeling echoed in his hollow shell. Why? What did it matter? Except for the fact that she was here and he wasn’t beside her.
The monochrome child’s legs moved before he had any coherent thought. For once not moved by another, until he was close enough to reach out, close enough for one of his hands to slip into hers’.
Re: Masquerade
"Aww Omori! Did you want to dance with your big sis? How cute!"
She gladly pulled him into the next dance, trying to teach him moves
whether they were the right ones or not was anyone's guess but she still had fun with itand make him feel more comfortable. Her smile never dimmed in the slightest as she moved, feeling completely free for once.no subject
But… from what?
Omori didn’t verbalize any of this, his dark gaze on his sister as he attempted to follow the steps she showed him. Where hers was full of life and freedom, his was stiff and awkward.
Still… this was fun. He almost felt Happy.

[Despite the fact that the other people in the room were dancing in a completely different vibe, it didn't bother Mari. If anything, it only encouraged her different form of dancing.]
"I'm sure everyone else would love to have one as well!"
no subject
A dance party though…? Maybe…
Still, it was a request from Mari. He nodded, expression still the same. If she thought everyone would enjoy it, then maybe they would.]

"Want to get some refreshments? Now might be a good idea for a drink." [She gently lead him over to where the snack bar was, which included a wide variety of drinks and appetizers incase the participants needed a break.]
no subject
But his sister had a bad knee. She should take breaks.
The boy followed her over to the table, gaze searching. It certainly was no picnic, but it would do. He found a glass, filled it with punch, and held it out to Mari.]
no subject
[She took a sip of the punch and made a delighted noise.] Whoever made this sure knows what they are doing! [Her eyes turned to the snacks next, eyeing through them to see if there was something that her picky brother would eat... she settled for a bowl of chips and grabbed some for the two of them to share. Leading them over to a table, she set down the chips and her drink before sitting down to relax for a bit.]
no subject
[If Mari was praising the drink though… the boy took a sip. It was alight. Except… there was a small undertone of cherry. Ew.]
[Omori’s eyes darkened just a shade in sadness as he followed her over to the table. Sitting down next to the chair she chose - though giving enough personal space that he wouldn’t be bothered.]
no subject
You know… I wish I could dance like them… [She smiled over at her brother.] They all look so carefree and their movements are so fluid…
[Mari was silent for a moment, before her expression became determined.] Guess I’ll just have to practice more huh?
no subject
Still… he wanted to support her. Nodding, so she knew… she could do it. He believed in her.
Even if he thought she was fine just the way she was. Mari was his big sister, after all.]
no subject
[A bright smile encompasses her face as she gives her brother a tight- but somewhat awkward- hug from their separate seats. Her friends always did know how to cheer her up, her brother especially.]
I’m sure you’ll help me practice huh? And speaking of practice…
[Mari gets up once more, her purple hair swaying as she turns around towards her brother and extends her hand to him.]
Ready to try again?

Good stopping point?
