YOU'VE JUST CROSSED OVER INTO -

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
from
HOTEL MULTIVERSE AT THE EDGE OF THE COSMOS BETWEEN CANONS™

Guests who find themselves partaking in the Hotel's amenities quickly find some tricks afoot. The decor is first, neon lights changing to autumnal oranges, garish greens, and ghoulish purples overnight. Those who peruse the shops will find them stocked with masks and costumes, and the ambient music which plays throughout the ship is punctured by blood-curdling sound effects such as screams and anxiety-inducing musical stingers. This is Halloween.

Those who utilize the Hotel-provided devices will find an ad splashed across their screens. Similarly, TVs, phones connected to the network, and flyers posted will read:

"FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT OF OUR GUESTS, HOTEL MULTIVERSE AT THE EDGE OF THE COSMOS BETWEEN CANONS™ IS HAPPY TO PROVIDE HALLOWEEN-THEMED ENTERTAINMENT."

Staff members' uniforms change, with employees adding costume pieces to them as the weeks wear on. Guests are strongly encouraged to put together a costume with pieces from the shops, but those who opt out will instead find one of the standard options (listed at the bottom of this post) and chosen at random (by googling "rng 1-19") in their wardrobe.

After dark (or, what would be dark), the ship transforms into a hotel of horrors, the following chaos breaking loose:

TRICK-OR-TREATING
Costumed guests are welcome to partake in trick-or-treating with the ship's staff, who can be found with carts of candy in common areas. Guests are also offered flags for their doorknobs to indicate that they have candy available in the rooms if they would like to partake as well.

SCAREZONES
Grab a map from the concierge or walk the halls at random, but don't be surprised if a staff member jumps at you from the shadows!

HAUNTED HOUSE
Guests using the hotel app will find numerous ads alerting them to a haunted house that's overtaken one of the hotel floors (and honestly, the ads are impressive, opening as an emergency alert to a runaway alien), and the hotel itself plasters the attraction across its screens and walls overnight as well. Obviously, a haunted house is a great thing to do after you've had a ton to drink, or a great way to meet fellow guests (whether or not you're reaching for their hand in fright). However, to ensure the safety of all team members and guests, do not make physical contact with any member of our cast. Remember: the actors' intention is to frighten you.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON
Guests hoping to keep things a bit more low key might find what they're looking for in the hotel's movie theater and lounges, which offer 24/7 horror movie marathons ranging from the classic to the avant garde. A programming guide can be found outside of each respective screening or on the app. Film buffs will be delighted at the hotel's library, but don't be surprised if your niche fave is banished to a graveyard slot.

MASQUERADE
The hotel's ballrooms are open late for those guests interested in keeping the revelry going night after night. Just don't let the anonymity of your costumes take you too terribly far (or, I mean, do what you want, everyone has a room, after all).

If you aren't able to purchase a costume or aren't feeling inspired, no problem! Our courteous staff have taken the liberty of providing you with a courtesy costume, free of charge, to allow you to participate in the event. You will receive one of the following at random:

01: Ghost
02: Alien
03: Devil
04: Superhero (Your Choice!)
05: Skeleton
06: Pumpkin
07: Zombie
08: Vampire
09: Clown
10: Mummy
11: Werewolf
12: Black Cat
13: Pirate
14: Frankenstein's Monster
15: Witch
16: Spider
17: Bunny
18: Bat
19: Angel

Horror Movie Marathon

[personal profile] solitarynote 2024-10-25 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Maybe it was the scent of popcorn, maybe it was the somewhat familiar face. Either way, Omori found himself lurking near where the Doctor was seated.

The boy’s gaze was an unchanging as ever, but at the other’s question, it flicked up towards the screen. Observing for a few moments, then the tiniest shrug of his shoulders.

He had no clue, but anything was better than a blank screen. And company was preferred to loneliness.]

[The Doctor watches near by not aware anyone else is near him as he watches Halloween Town. The story opens on Halloween night, but they're not allowed to trick or treat because Mom said she has her reasons why the children aren't allowed. Grandma has come over to visit her grandchildren. There are various Halloween festivities, that grandma pulls out of her Mary Poppins Halloween bag. As the items are clearly too many and too bulky to logically fit. All Halloween themed. Finally, grandma reads Halloween Town]

Oh my gosh I loved this movie growing up <3 has been so long since I watched it XD

[Omori watches the screen as it flickers, staying near the Doctor. The storytelling is interesting enough to catch and keep his attention - especially with the way the grandmother describes the town.

When she explains that scary monsters might be misunderstood, Omori’s gaze trails from the screen. Somewhere, deep down, something throbbed, almost bitter in his throat.

No, sometimes monsters were just monsters. The boy would know. And sometimes monsters were a necessity.

Still, he continued taking in the movie, imagination flying. Halloween Town sounded like a fun place. He almost wanted to visit. And, the next time Sunny dreamed, some of the elements from that movie might be mixed in along with the rest.
familyalien: (not sure)

maybe you should again :3

[The Doctor knows that there are decent aliens and bad aliens. Just like being told about the monsters of Halloween Town. After grandma and her daughter talk about they won't allow Marnie to complete her witches training, The Doctor is inward facepalming because he knows that Marnie is going to sneak away with grandma and sure enough she does on the flying bus.]

Blimey, keeping secrets from your children isn't how you parent.
solitarynote: (Omori (Chill))

It is the right season for it~

[personal profile] solitarynote 2024-10-28 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Omori didn’t have a response to what the Doctor said - he wouldn’t know what ‘proper parenting’ was. In a way, he didn’t have parents and he didn’t have child… he simply existed.

Which was precisely why the child was just sitting there watching the movie again. Existing. Absorbing the events. Observing. That was all.]
familyalien: (Grin)

it is and sorry for the late

[The Doctor watches the children sneak away on the flying bus into the other reality, while they wander around the new place full of Halloween creatures that are living day-to-day lives; just like some aliens do. Before finding themselves at grandma's house and turning the lock into a frog on her front gate. Grandma is brewing a potion and they eagerly want to help. Eventually, they do end up help in gathering up ingredients; tooth of a vampire, hair of a werewolf and sweat of a ghost. And then grandma gets turned into a frozen statue inside the movie theatre, of course the children run for it.]

I like this movie makes me think of how aliens and humans are.

No worries! ^^

[personal profile] solitarynote 2024-11-05 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[The movie is momentarily forgotten as Omori focuses in on those words. His voice comes out as a whisper, raspy from disuse.]

…Aliens?

[Some part of him is curious. The other part is sure these ‘aliens’ would be different than the space pirates Sunny dreamed up.]

[The Doctor turns around at the voice]

That's right. And there's quite a few variations in my universe but they're just like how people can be. Just like how these monsters are in this movie.

[Meanwhile, in the movie, some evil force is chasing now after the children, who wants Merlin's talisman. They find grandma and mom frozen in time by 'the bad thing' that's been turning good monsters, bad.]

[The boy had to wonder… if the man had met aliens, was he a space pirate? He opened his mouth to ask… but was distracted by the movie once more.

Something turned the monsters bad. Something other, something not in their control, something

As if the blame could be anything but their own. Omori couldn’t agree with it, his mouth tightening, his eyes turning darker as his hands clenched empty air.

No. It wasn’t some other’s fault - it was his.

The child stood up from the seat, turning towards the exit. It wasn’t true, it couldn’t be true, he was just trying to keep him safe.]

Don't you want to see how this ends? It's a Disney movie, always a good ending.

[personal profile] solitarynote 2024-11-11 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[The inquiry stopped the child’s exit from the theater. He felt like he didn’t know what he wanted. He had too much pent up bitterness inside, he was sure of that. But why? Why did it matter? Why, when he hadn’t asked to be created in the first place?

He wasn’t sure why staying for the movie mattered. He wasn’t sure what a ‘Disney’ movie was… but it was all a distraction.

So Omori sat back down, forcing his eyes back to the screen, hands clutching the seat beneath like he wanted it to break.]

[The movie ends with showing the bad guy is The Mayor and how Marnie is able to banish the bad by lighting up the large Jack O lantern in town square with Merlin's talisman. Marnie, Aggie, Gwen banish The Mayor.]

See what did I tell you? Disney movie, always has a good ending.
solitarynote: (Omori (Talk 2))

[personal profile] solitarynote 2024-11-25 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
[As the movie had gone on, Omori’s mood had returned to Neutral. He nodded, partly out of habit in agreeing with most of the things his friends said.

It hadn’t been a bad movie. The ending wrapped up in a nice little bow, and it was more interesting than some of the short films he had observed in a certain pink castle.

The child pulled out his knife, etching a question into the back of the chair.]

IS THERE MORE?

[Normally this sort of thing lost his attention rather quickly, but… Omori couldn’t help but latch onto the comfort of the movie and its characters. Even if he couldn’t admit that out loud.]
