Sunny’s apology was met with a slight tilt of the monochrome boy’s head. Not confused, necessarily, just… not grasping the scope, or maybe why, the other was apologizing. To Omori, it wasn’t necessary. Sunny had accepted the Truth - and Omori was no longer needed.
The chasm opened wide again.
Instead of peering into it, the child stood up, putting his knife away and trading it for the pillowcase. Ready to continue… unless Sunny had a better idea. Omori looked to him for direction, his own warped mirror - taller and with an eyepatch, but similar enough. Except in this mirror, there were no friends waiting behind him.
